Vlado Martek

Vlado Martek (Zagreb, 1951) graduated in literature and philosophy at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Zagreb in 1976. He was engaged in visual and concrete poetry, and since the mid-1970s, as a member of the Group of Six Authors, he has been dealing with post-conceptual art. He has published eleven books – from poetry collections to essays on contemporary art and two graphic maps. In 2002, a monograph was published: Martek – fatal figures of the artist, author Miško Šuvaković, and in 2008 a retrospective exhibition was held at the Glyptotheque of the Croatian Academy of Sciences and Arts in Zagreb. He has exhibited in numerous solo and group exhibitions at home and abroad, and has won several awards. He lives and works in Zagreb and Rovinj.
