Đuro Seder

Đuro Seder (Zagreb, 1927) is a Croatian painter, poet and academic. He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Zagreb and in 1951 graduated in the class of prof. Antun Mezdjić. He specialized in painting with prof. Marino Tartaglia. He has been a full professor at the Academy of Fine Arts in Zagreb since 1981 and has exhibited independently from 1958 until today. From 1959 to 1966 he was a member of the Gorgona group. In the 1980s, he was one of the founders of the “new image” in Croatian art. He has exhibited in group and solo exhibitions and also published poetry in the 1960s and 1970s. He is a full member of the Croatian Academy of Sciences and Arts. He won the Vladimir Nazor Lifetime Achievement Award in 1986.
