Ljerka Šibenik

Ljerka Šibenik (Zagreb, May 19, 1935) graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Zagreb in 1962; attended the Master’s workshop of Krsto Hegedušić (1962 – 1964). She was the manager of Galerija Nova (1975 – 2003), where she represented young artists of avant-garde trends and authors of the older generation whose work is connected with innovations in the artistic context. A member of the second generation of Croatian avant-garde artists, she explored the creation of complex structures and environments (Crni objekt 2, 1968), and at the same time produced intensely colored objects with minimalistic designs (Mini relief, 1968).
