Ivan Čižmek
Ivan Čižmek (Zagreb, 1937) graduated from the Faculty of Architecture in Zagreb in 1962. He worked in various architecture studios and at the Urban Institute in Zagreb. He is the author of a large number of drawings and architectural concepts that he exhibited in solo exhibitions and collected in the book Urban herbarium (Zagreb, 2002). In addition to his primary activity as an architect and urbanist, Čižmek was a participant of two key movements on the Croatian art scene of the sixties, the New Tendencies and Gorgona, and has remained most renowned for his famous drawing Hearse Wheel that he drew in 1962 for the anti-magazine Gorgona.
