Boris Demur (Zagreb, 1951-2014) enrolled in the Academy of Fine Arts in Zagreb in 1970, where he graduated from the Painting Department in the class of prof. Raul Goldoni in 1975, and from the Graphic Arts Department in the class of prof. Albert Kinert in 1977. He collaborated with the Ljubo Ivančić Master Workshop from 1975 to 1977. Demur was one of the founders of the Group of Six Artists (1975 -1981) where he collaborated together with Vlado Martek, Željko Jerman, Fedor Vučemilović, Sven Stilinović and Mladen Stilinović. He is renowned representative of analytical painting in Croatia. In 1983, he discovered the motif of spiral and stayed involved with it until his death in 2014.
