Alem Korkut
Alem Korkut (Travnik, Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina, 1970) studied at the Academy of fine arts in Sarajevo from 1991 to 1992, and in 1997 he graduated from the Academy of fine arts in Zagreb, Sculpture Department, in the class of prof. Šime Vulas. He is an author of many monuments and sculptures in public spaces, among which are Karijatida in Pazin (2002), the Monument to a bike in Koprivnica (2005) and the Monument to fallen war fighters of Croatian War for Independence in Šibenik (2006). He was awarded a grand prize at the 27th Youth Salon in Zagreb as well as the Croatian Association of Artists’ (HDLU) annual prize for emerging artists in 2004. From 2007 he teaches sculpture at the Academy of fine arts in Zagreb, Croatia.
